I am haunted by demons
that will not leave me,
give me no respite
and offer
no opportunity to find
a sanctuary
among the burning remains.

I am tormented
by the things
that might have been
but never were,
the lives
never lived
and the loves
never fulfilled.

I am a man awash
in his own remains
as I wish for you
despite my best efforts,
that wants for you
inspite of
my better judgments
and desires
to be part
of your whole
regardless of what
circumstances
have come to pass.

Your beauty destroys me
in ways you cannot understand,
dare not
to comprehend
and are better off
for not knowing.

My life has led me
to a vastness
I cannot bear
for the heat
and sand
and solitude
have stripped me
of all
that I might
have been.

I have wished
upon every star,
I have cursed
nearly every move I have made
and every decision
I failed,
I have hoped
more than any man
should be expected
to survive
that your love
would be my love
and in the coupling
my peace
would be found.

Forgive me my trespasses,

In the open

Take your time the master shouted
And choose your moment wisely
Speed has power undoubted
But it means nothing if you miss me

Seduction in blade and deed
Is like guarding your center line
keep it closed until you succeed
and hit a hit finer than sweet wine

Parry, retreat and disengage
Dodge from side to side
Build in the opponent a quiet rage
Let not your blows swing wide

Then when that heart is open
strike strong, fast, and clean
And above all see and listen
Their body tells the scene

Combat is that sacred art
Of hitting and not getting hit
All players play their part
Of blades of steel and wit

Above all take those moments
Feel them in your chest
Give your foe gentle torments
And give them no time for rest

So remember this my novices
There are many ways to miss
But of all of wit's and steel's promises

give her all the sweet words I employ
for you are my sacred quest
and in this mission I am not coy

that in these lines I scribe
all those things asked for

I love you more

She asks me, “Do you love me?”
in a sing-song baby voice, knowing
the answer will be the same as it was
when she asked me three minutes before:
“I love you dear.”
“I love you more.”
She’s made a game of insecure, as she
tries to reconcile twelve good years
with the misshapen body she struggles
to dress, and the store-bought smile that
leaves her gum line sore.
“I love you dear.”
“I love you more.”
She wants to trust me, and almost does
at night, in the dark. But in the traitor
morning light, as she fights to tie her shoes
on twisted, scarred, unlovely feet, and
faces a mirror she tries not to see,
She asks me, “Do you love me?”

I wrote when I was infatuated with this girl. I`m oer her now, but the poems I still found interesting.
Meant To Be

From far away places they both had came,
Two separate worlds not nearly the same
His was by accident, or so he thought
Hers was self inflicted, from feeling so lost.
They met in a home that was far from their own
With the thought upon arrival, they..ld be all alone
On Valentines Day they began to see
How obvious it was, that they were Meant To Be.

The Search is Over

From the age of twelve, one searches for this
Beauty, true love, and eternal bliss
One shops around, and often finds true
That the candidates out there are often quite few
As life rolls on, one keeps the heart open
Yet can..t seem to find the one they were hoping
So many candidates, makes one feel like a rover
Then quite unexpectidly finds
The long Search is Over

The Wind Blew
Two separate lives were being led in two separate worlds, and then the wind blew.
It blew them both to a facility in Snohomish called the Delta House, and then the wind blew.
It blew her to Port Angeles far away, and then again the wind blew.
It blew their love with fervent force towards one another by phone and e-mail, then the wind blew.
It blew doubt in his mind seeking faults, and then the wind blew.
It blew away all doubt to cling their souls to one another, and a strong gust began to develop.
Like the quiet before the storm, they both await for the wind to blow them together.

My Rock

As we go through life, we have our ups and our downs
The ups will make us smile, and the downs will make us frown
When you and I met, we were at our all time low
We met, felt a connection, then fell in love, and it was so
I was struggling in life, not knowing where to turn
Each time we talked, I felt my soul burn
You talked to me as if you felt in your heart
That nothing could possibly split us apart
To you the feeling is just like a lock

Into your life I came

For Her, at Last

Take pity on a silent bard
whose words fall like a broken sword
an empty battlefield discard
by my own tongue betrayed

For language becomes obsolete
and any verse, however sweet
is, at its finest, incomplete
incompetence displayed

What use is voice, or pen, or art
when fire sweeps clean a poets heart
and all my striving falls apart
at just one breath from you?

Now doomed to fail again I will
myself to find the words to fill
the stubborn silence, aching still
to forge that sword anew.

When I, by mornings sweet surprise
have watched the dance of dragonflies
behind the dawnlight in your eyes
can I be held to blame

For seeking ways to reassure
you that I'm lost, beyond a cure
and have of you a need so pure
desire cries in shame?

Still I again am made to see
that I have not the skill to free
the simple, sacred mystery
this golden band portrays.

But now, when sure defeat draws near
I see at last the answer, clear
and still my voice, that you might hear
in silence, perfect praise.

are like toucan feathers

This Is a twist on a sonnet written in by John Harrington, in 1546. This is one of the poems that I recite at the SoCal Renaissance Faire.

Whence comes my love? O heart disclose;
It was from your cheeks that sham’d the red rose,
From your lips that spoil the ruby’s praise,
From your eyes that mock the diamond’s blaze:

Your blushing cheek speaks of a modest mind,
Your lips befitting words most kind,
The eye does tempt to loves desire,
And seems to say “ ‘tis Cupid’s fire;”

Why thus, my love, so kind, bespeak
Sweet eye, sweet blushing cheek—
Yet not a heart to save my pain;

Smoothing the Ride

SMOOTHING THE RIDE

Sometimes I dig a hole so deep, I cover myself in dirt.
The only dirt within the hole that I dig is the dirt I dug myself.
I bury myself beneath the silt of earth and mold and grass.
Buried myself, I can't get out, I guess I've kicked my own ass.

Wiggle around like a worm in the mud; it's such a rainy day.
I scream and shout and wiggle about, but nobody hears what I say.
Looking around, I'm beneath the ground of the stuff that makes the earth.
While way down there, there's a lack of air, I choke on my own self worth.

I taste the grit between my teeth, I feel so freakin’ low.
The more I dig the more I go down, like I'm caught in an undertow.
Swimming around with my face in the ground, will I ever see the light.
I push through the soil of my life in toil, someday I'll make it alright.

I'm way down now, I don't know how, I ever made it this far.
Through the smick and the smut and stuck in the rut, of a never healing scar.
Don't be mistaken, my heart isn't breaking from the words and things I've done.
I'll never give in, I'll say it again, I'm here til the race is won.

I chip the rock and stone away from the path I've lead in the earth.
It's long and wide, what a wild ride, I've dug it since my birth.
I won't go down beneath the ground if I can ever help it again.
With god on my side, we can smooth the ride, I'll love you forever, Amen

A beautiful Chinese poem of love

English traslation:

The east wind sighs, the fine rains come:

Beyond the pool of water-lilies, the noise of faint thunder.

A gold toad gnaws the lock. Open it, burn the incense.

A tiger of jade pulls the rope. Draw from the well and escape.

Chia's daughter peeped through the screen when Han the clerk was young,

The goddess of River left her pillow for the great Prince of Wei.

Never let your heart open with the spring flowers:

One inch of loves is an inch of ashes.

I think the English traslation can't exactly express the poetry's meaning. It is so moved.The poet is famous for his Chinese classic poem.

I'm Bojana and I've just got here : ) Love vibes are the best vibes for sure!
I would like to share a beautiful story with ya, which I originally got from a friend, written in Serbian, but I did a translation and I hope you'll like it. So, here we go..

A long time ago, all human sentiments and all human qualities have found themselves over clandestinely endemic aboveground.

When Boredom yawned for the third time, Foolishness (always that much foolish) suggested: “Hey, let’s play hide and seek!” The one who hides the best will become the winner among all sentiments!

The Intrigue raised her right eyebrow and Curiosity, since could not stay silent, asked at once: “Hide and seek? What kind of game is that?”
“It’s a game”, Foolishness started to explain, “where I cover my eyes and count to million, while all of you are hiding around. When I finish with counting, I’m starting to look for each one of you and the one whom I find the last becomes the winner.” The Enthusiasm started to dance, followed by Excitement. Happiness was so thrilled that she persuaded Doubt and Apathy to play the game in which they were not interested. Like everything else beside that game. Nevertheless, some of them did not want to play. The Truth was always against hiding. Why would she do so? No matter what, she is always found. Pride was thinking that is a stupid idea, although the real inner torment was the fact that he was not the one who suggested the game at the first place. Caution did not want to risk.

“1, 2, 3…” Foolishness started to count.

Laziness was hided first. She just through herself behind the first stone on the road.Faith has climmed upon the sky, while Envy was in the shadow of Success who made more than a great effort to hide at the top of the highest tree. Generosity could not decide where to hide because each place seemed to her like a perfect one for her friends. Beauty jumped in a crystal clear lake, while Shyness was peaking through the fissure on the tree. Prettiness has found her place to hide on the butterfly’s wings while Freedom has found it in the breath of the wind. Selfishness has found the shelter but only for herself. Lie was hidden at the end of the rainbow (that’s a lie, she was at the bottom of the ocean), while Passion and Lust were in the volcanic crater. Oblivion forgot to hide, but that is not so important. When Foolishness counted to 999.999, Love was still without shelter, because each of them was busy. Suddenly, she saw a rose garden, where she jumped at once, covering herself with a beautiful rose petals and buds.

“A Million!” shouted Foolishness and started seeking.

Laziness was found first, hidden behind the nearest rock. Soon after, Foolishness heard Faith, discussing theology with God. Therified Lust and Passion jumped out the volcanic crater. There was Envy and of course, Success. Selfishness should not be sought for. She showed up by herself from her perfect cover. Apparently, her perfect place to hide was a beehive. After that long search, Foolishness got thirsty and so in a crystal lake, she found Beauty. With Doubt was easier, because she could not decide in which place to hide, so she stayed sitting on the rock. Little by little, Foolishness found every one of the sentiments. There was Talent, in the golden fields of corn. Narrowness was in the burned grass. Lie was at the end of the rainbow (that is a lie – she was at the bottom of the ocean).Oblivion forgot that they were playing at all. Only Love could not be found...

Foolishness searched every bush, every mountaintop, and when she was at the edge of a serious anger, she saw a rose garden. She stood there, among roses, with a wooden stick in her hands and out of rage, anger and exaustion, she started striking the beautiful rose buds. All of the sudden, she heard a scream. Roses torns have scratched Love’s eyes. Foolishness did not know what to do.She found the winner, sentiment of the sentiments, but Love became blind. Folly cried and begs Love to forgive her and at the end, she decided to stay next to Love and help her forever.

And so, Love became the winner among sentiments, but she stayed blind.What about Foolishness? Well…Foolishness is following her no matter where she goes...

of belief and building blocks
of all ~supreme and yet
strangely simple~driven
by rushing streams ,
opaque sunbeams ~flooding
thru' my perception of a
dream so true and real
that transcends all imaginings
of this known world and street,
I see beyond,request a stop
to linger briefly and sample
the sensations of a transitory space~
to smell his hair,to taste him
to hear his music old and new.
i touch a fleeting rainbow as it
rises from a froathing ocean
from the hill of a scared region
its always my home despite
changing vistas and faces
I dwell within
and reflect without

thought-out comments chopped off with dashes
deliquescing into ellipses

filled

filled now completed expressive punctuated comprehensible

under your eyes above them
through them

eyes over which foreheads loom behind which
fire electrochemical pulses passion flowers

which were cats crawling on pianos
which are now jazzfingers clanging-composing

pulses grow into impulses

nose doubles into noses

over mouthsful of teeth quadrupling into smiles

Caught In the Creature Still

As women like an Eidolon, named her by grace,
the singing-bird had thou went, and low,
melting a man's heart, unstained, untold,
were as she quenched my sight so aptly spoken.
Not to her eyes will look to be, for the next,
and I the dead relief, who cam'st thou wilt not,
ruling new love till stars dispose their verdict.
Meek leaves were the morning came one,
is emptied of the solid and beast, we shall not I,
but what monsters, what best is cast
into the forest sang unto an enemy's clipped ear?

Hiding in many suns have no more than I,
instead I am nearing the journeying moon,
stole into dreams of white glory thou not wilt art,
our sky, I always had love of the Gods and celestial spheres!

Thy soul shall not lift too full of less, scathed of night
no more-- but let of Autumn seep as thy lips to me.
Shyly making of its gentle wishes pestilence.
Call it was there for the worms’ inheritor of me
as high beauty of the streams which I am told, and I,
I told of the dull opiate to shine the summer sun.
You lavished on deck my godlike exercise
of clashing arms embraced, and lush valleys, and love, --
as thy weary of the psalm in all times, and thine
throw them till o'er that cave that bore our fruit.
Fairytales fall powerless to excel us, no more me
nor deemed Contempt could glow within my life,
Love, sweet chorus chimed with my tremulous hands

searching for Sacred Pure & Holy Dream Girl
is it really too much to beg plead and ask
that she simply not wear a make-up mask ?!
her face all natural pure and clean
no toxic poison if you know what i mean
make-up is an obstruction, an intimacy block
her face must be kissed, does that come as a shock ?!
she never smoked and never will
she's gentle not violent, she doesn't kill
so she's vegan of curse, pure vegetarian
a valorous virtuous humanitarian
she's healthy & naturally hygienic as well
no domestic-animals filthy stinking hell
she lets wild animals remain free in nature
she's balanced both childlike and wisely mature
her brain is brilliant, her body is beauty
her virtue is valiant, her visage a cutie
her nose nicely shaped little feminine slope
perfectly pretty, she says "yep" not "nope"
when i suggest any smart course of action
her humble receptivity is part of her attraction
she's irresistably hot, but diseased she's not
she's doesn't let just anyone into the melting pot

content with basic needs met, angelic it would seem
good moral character, pleasant positive personality
ethical conscience, aware of eternal Soul immortality
this short poem only small part of her saintly story
forever to Great-Spirit Within she gives Glory
last couplet of lines could've been end of this poem
sees Star* is best man on earth, she asserts to know'm
she phones & emails, writes him nice friendly letter
then goes to him in person, heart tells her she better
she honors the value of good clear communications
she always does what's right in her life's situations
she travels to Star* without procrastination

In the doorway I stand
looking nervous with my hat in my hand
I see you across the room and a smile comes to my face
my heart swells and quickens its pace
I stride across the room and offer you my hand
and when you take it i can hardly stand
soft, delicate fingers, silken smooth palm
It becomes more difficult to remain calm
A song we both love begins to play
I take you in my arms and we dance and sway

if you're ever feeling crappy, take yourself a happy nappy;
beside a tree whose blood is sappy, then into great-spirit you'll tappy.

in your dreams the tree will say, for the air i make you cannot pay;
and other good things trees do as well, to make earth life a heaven not hell.

so charge the fields with a battle cry, holding aloft your pick-axe high;
diggers and dreamers thus plant food-trees, for hungry children growing please.

behold the warrior-poet King Yo, everyone with good taste likes him you know;
Star* is everyone's best friend and spiritual bro, that's a fact i told you so.

therefore humbly receive the teachings, of his happy holy preachings;
even at smokers his yelling screaching, and corrupt power-abusers impeaching.

for King Yo rules Universe, His Presence makes it better not worse;
demons think he is a curse, his Sainthood shines thru poetic verse.

Lord King Yo can-not be stop-ped, not even by no evil coppers;
vice away shall be chop-ped, by your own selves introspective choppers.

gaining ethical conscience and morals good, doing only right as should;
and of course we could and would, if supported on holy ground we stood.

so help me make vegan ecovillages pure, most important mission for sure;

be thou now a noble knight, stand beside your King and fight;
trust in Good/God and do Right, Goodness/Goddess makes Love all night.

and plant food trees on planets M-class, space cadets Laddie and Lass;
green nurseries converting gas, into breathable air that'll pass.

we visit stars, salute each Sun, start colonies on planets of more than one;
conscious gardeners everyone, human beings finally are done.

we grew spiritually till eventually grown, past the ancient violence groan;
karma reaping seeds we've sown, solve the simple Zen-Like Koan.

all plants and people natives are, on any galaxy planet near and far;
we carry them thar on space carriage car, where they can Live by Light of Star*

passing storms

body aching, burning,
cold dark water smothers my soul,
our lovers quarrel has taken its toll.

our seperation causes thought,
I know i need you, now.

when i call, and you answer, i hear your reserve,
we 've broken the silence, i steady my nerve,

we come together through the icey cold tears,
a long lingering pause,
the exchange of feelings warms our hearts

the rush of pent passions erupt

like bursting the surface of the cold dark water,
body burning , gasping, we breathe each other in,

feeling the molten emotions of deeper love realized,
we emerge from the darkness into a new light,

our love is grown to a deeper dimension,
impossible to see before,
together we've opened a new door.

passing the obstacle that grew in the way,
we faced the demons and now we can say,
I love you, with fresh meaning, new depth, like never before...

love and peace to you my my soulmate,
hold to my hand

together in this life we will stand,
and face the storms that roll from the sea,

Hot, tempestuous emotion,

blasts of anger from misunderstanding,
she withholds her affection from my soul,

encumbered by the weight of a thousand tears,
the body buckles to the strain,

flashing images and statements of the past,
searching for an anchor to hold through the storm fast,

holding to the meaning and reasons of life,
the storm of silence rages on.

waiting the break of silence,
like the first break of dawn in the dark,

waiting through the long dark night,
each wave of emotion cuts like a knife,

each moment of silence seems an endless ...

Whenever I start to miss you
I think back to that day at work
when I locked myself in the bathroom
sobbing

And I can still hear the pounding from outside the door-
my coworkers pleading to be let in

I fell against the cold tile of the wall and
crumbled to the floor
grabbing my knees and pulling them close in the dark
because

I really thought I was falling apart
when it finally sank in that youd cheated on me

And in my mind
a rush of memories from the last 20 months
stream through my tears-
dissolving into saline lies

Suddenly I understand
that every time I begin to miss you
my heart is expelling another remnant of you
in my thoughts

Memory to memory, bit by bit
Im saying goodbye to you forever

And one day I wont think you at all

the dream

this is our dream
out in the cooling hinterland
scurrying drunkenly through the flashing lights
hand in hand
dancing in the social vortex
then deep, dusky closeness entangled in blankets
and each other

but the dream is like smoke
almost solid, almost recognizable
when, the mist evaporates with the knowledge and form
and we are left searching

i know there is no point in searching
i know the dream is only real when we are together
but the madness of my desire
knows no reason
it is a blind, aching confusion
pulling at it’s leash to search for you

when will we live the dream again
when will the ether solidify to reveal
our special place
with it’s special name
and you and i
drenched in the vapor of desire
creating the dream we create
that dream of dreams

until that too dissapates into the fog of memory
